About Ricordi

Did you ever wonder who was behind the magic of Opera? How did one manage to bring together those whose incredible talent of writing text, composing music, imagining scenography, designing costumes and acting it all out gave us some of the most fascinating Operas of all time?

No one would know this better than Giovanni Ricordi. In 1808, he launched his career as a music publisher in Milan and laid the foundations for what would later become the publishing house of the most important Italian opera composers, namely Gioacchino Rossini, Vincenzo Bellini, Gaetano Donizetti, Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini.
