Vlaamse Opera

There is something moving in The Vlaamse Opera, Flanders’ only opera house. As from January 2009, we will turn a new leaf with intendant Aviel Cahn. His first season will be centralized around the theme of Utopia. You can expect famous  repertoires of for example Haydn, Händel, Mozart, Mahler and Saint-Saëns but also the lesser known work of Tsjaikovski and Flanders’ Karel Goeyvaerts. With one million visitors a year, the Centre for Fine Arts is one of the main attractions on the Mont des Arts/Kunstberg. The Centre’s strengths lie in its interdisciplinary approach and the quality of its productions, making it unique in the cultural epicentre of Europe’s capital.
